WHAT IS AN ADVANCED DRIVING INSTRUCTOR?
An Advanced Driving Instructor (ADI) or Approved Driving Instructor undergoes rigorous training over a minimum of two years to achieve this qualification. This process is demanding, with only a small percentage of candidates completing the programme. Once certified, ADIs must undergo regular reassessment by the DVSA every four years through a Standards Check. Failure to meet the required standards results in removal from the register, prohibiting the instructor from providing driver training. These tests are designed to maintain high standards of driver training across the UK.
